first you would have cut you hair down low and then wear a wave cape and keep it on and brush your hair

at modeling school the experts did it like this....
try curlers. big for looser waves and smaller ones for curly cues
try a crimper, they give a pleated look
wash your hair at night then braid it (not oo tight or it will break your hair!) and let it stay like that over night. in the morning undo the braids and use a wide tooth comb of your fingers to untangle your hair but stil keep the waves.

Get murrys wave grease for hair and brush your hair, and wear a wave cap.
