After giving her consent, the Blessed Virgin Mary was miraculously made pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit as described in the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke: http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/luke/luke1.htm

With love in Christ.

We -as muslims- believe that Jesus peace be upon him is a word of God and his messanger, and the way he came to life is by a simple command of God.God said "BE" and he"was"!
So he is not a son of God as christians believe ,he is just a normal human like Adam.
(O people of the Book, do not transgress the bounds in your religion, and attribute nothing but the Truth to Allah. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger of Allah and His Command" that was sent to Mary and a spirit from Allah (that took the shape of a child in the womb of Mary). So believe in Allah and His Messengers, and do not say, "There are `Three'." ) holy Quran

(And remember when the angels said, "O Mary, Allah sends you the good news of a Command of His: his name shall be Messiah, Jesus son of Mary. He will be highly honoured in this world and in the Next World and he will be among those favoured by Allah. He will speak to the people alike when in the cradle and when grown up, and he will be among the righteous." Hearing this, Mary said, "How, O Lord, shall I have a son, when no man has ever touched me?" "Thus shall it be," was the answer. Allah creates whatever He wills. When He decrees a thing, He only says, "Be" and it is.) holy Quran

Greetings!!!

Now that's a good question! I cannot "knowledgeably" understand how the Creator created everything in an "orderly" fashion, according to a "Divine Law" and then from a finite point of view, reverse it (for whatever reasons) in favor of an Immaculate Conception. There's only one way for a man to be created and a thousand in which he may be destroyed. MAYBE the answer (though it may not be accepted) may lay in Marys' upbringing, etc.

I may be mistaken, yet I'm open to correction, guidance, ect. as long as its of an investigative nature and not one of "...the Book says so".

Peace

The Eternal Christ-God, 2nd Person of the Holy Trinity, chose to reduce Himself, to a Divine Embryo. He placed himself within the protective confine of May’s virgin womb. He underwent , a divine gestation period within Mary’s womb. He grows therein, being made perfect at every stage of His in-vitro incarnation. Psalms 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. Mary’s virgin womb, was simply a chosen vessel within which, the totally divine act of incarnation, was to simply take place.

She was "filled with the Holy Spirit". Now the context of the words "Holy Spirit" in the Greek language translate as perfected consciousness. One might conclude from this that her own thoughts transpired her own pregnancy. There have been cases of miraculous healing in the medical community, complete organs regenerated, cancers completely dissapeared, etc. Most have "positive thinking" related to the testimonies of the patients who were healed. How does this relate to a pregnancy? Perhaps Mary's own concious effort transpired the very desire of her own heart with the help of it being elevated above the reasoning and ways of this world.

Unknown.

Christians believe that God caused Mary, who was a virgin, to become pregnant.

This was not the Immaculate Conception, however. This is a common misconception. The Immaculate Conception refers to Mary's own birth, not her giving birth to Jesus. Catholics contend that Mary "was preserved by God from the stain of original sin at the time of her own conception."

My theory is that since Mary and Joseph didn't have sex, Mary was cheating on him with some other guy. Who knows who impregnated her...
