u cant overtake the person in last place!!! the guy is last, you can't pass him... if he's last, and you're behind him, that means you're not in the race...

Doesn't make sense. If you over take the person in last place then you were not even the race so how can you over take theperson in last place?
That would make you be in second to last place because the person you over took is behind you then they would should be in last place. But if you were not in the race then joined the race then you would be in last place if the person in last place that you took over had dropped out of the race.
Its still a little confusing.

it would be impossible to overtake the person who was in last place. if you mean that they are last position because you passed them, then you are next-to-last place
