It has nothing to do with an animal having a soul or not. Under the old covenant there had to be some way for payment of mans crimes against God. Then it was the best flawless animal and the blood was the payment. But that no longer stands. Under the new covenant that payment has been paid once for all.

I give you the Good Test and see just how good you are. It will explain the need for the shedding of blood for the remission of sin.

Have you ever told a lie? Doesn't matter how big or small. What does that make you?

Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter. What does that make you?

Jesus taught that if you look at someone with lust that you have committed adultery in your heart. Have you ever lusted?

Jesus taught that if you hate anyone that is the same as murder. Have you ever hated anyone?

One day you will have to stand before a Holy God and be judged, How will you answer?

I have broken all these and more of the Laws of God and payment is going to have to be paid. It is going to be paid one of two ways. Either we pay it ourselves and be found guilty for our crimes against God. Or the price will have already been paid for us by blood of one. Jesus paid that price once that all would be found acceptable be fore God.

Now the choice is yours to either accept or reject. I have made my choice and your choice is yours and yours alone.

Guilty or forgiven?

I think you need a little bit of instruction on how to study the Bible because you are going about it completely the wrong way.

Has nobody ever explained to you that the sacrifices in the old testament were sacrifices to atone for sin and that animals were chosen because they hadn't sinned purposefully? When Jesus died on the cross, he didn't have to die because he hadn't sinned at all. Therefore, by dying he was able to atone for everyone's sins. Which means that we don't have to offer sacrifices anymore because our sins are already atoned for. Of course, that is only the case if we have accepted Christ's work on the cross. It sounds like your sins might not have been forgiven quite yet. But now that a perfect sacrifice has been offered, you can't have your sins forgiven with an animal sacrifice. So there's no point in doing it.

I presume you meant Exodus 29? While God meant these OT passages to be fulfilled literally, each and every Jewish sacrificial requirement was SYMBOLIC of the Messiah's future sacrifice. The sacrifice of animals didn't make God "feel good," it was the Jews' OBEDIENCE that pleased Him.

For example, the laying on of hands by priest and/or sinner onto the animal to be sacrificed represented the transferrance of sin to the animal; once the animal was killed, the sinner's sin was "covered," but not forgotten.

This was fulfilled in Jesus' sacrifice. He was beaten at the order of the Jewish High Priest and the Romans. This laying on of hands transferred the sins of the world to Jesus. Upon His death, anyone who believed received much more than the OT concept of atonement; not only were believers sins covered, but they were forgotten.

Animals weren't the point. Learning by example and symbolism WAS.

Peace.

I disagree with the previous answer that stated that Christians believe that animals do not have souls. Neither he nor I can answer for all of those who believe in Christ.

However, the word sacrifice should be understood in the context of animals as extremely important property to the ancients. It should also be understood as a symbol of God sending his son Jesus as a sacrifice (spiritual and physical) for us.

What about the Muslim feast of Eid Al Adha? Are not animal sacrifices performed (Udhiyah)? Is this not the sacrifice of sheep? Also, has Christianity sacrificed animals, no (except maybe fringe sects), only prior to the formation of Christianity were sacrifices performed, as opposed to your faith in which it is ongoing in many countries. Why are you being so hypocritical, everything you are asking of Christians is exactally what your faith does.

Hmm. Where's the question.

Wait! There it is! Uh, animals don't have souls. And the ONLY WAY to salvation of the eternal soul is thru Jesus, Son of the one true God.

God takes people and peoples where they are at. At the time your reference comes from, that's how primitive people related to God. As society evolved (and we're all into evolution, right?) the demands of God in scripture change from the external - go butcher your animals - to the internal : change your heart. It culminates in the highest form of sacrifice viz. the self-sacrifice of Christ. Now it is for our society to catch up with Him.

Stop reading whatever foolish book you're reading! Once again, you didn't say which book it came from! Is it not the same as you eating meat? Don't you think that those animals have souls?
