You mean you are being whipped, spit on, hair being pulled, nailed to a cross, have a thorns for a crown, getting jabbed in the side with a spear and dying ? It cost Him, not you or anybody else. That's what happens when people feel that they have given up everything and that it has cost them so much to follow Jesus. I'm sure you will be economically disabled when your throw your dollar into the offering once a week or a month or in a while. I'm sure giving up puking all morning from the previous night's binge and assuring yourself from getting STD by being faithful to one person will indubitable cost you.

Salvation hasn't cost me anything that was worth anything. The only thing that it cost me was a few friends who obviously weren't worth the bother if they couldn't have a friend who was a Christian.

Oh, and for answerer no 1, judging by your answer, I have an awful lot more tolerance than you do!

You have and are nothing without the creator who loves you so very much. What you give up is all the worldly thinking in giving yourself spiritually to Him. You still live in the world but not of the world. From that point you are given in abundance, Wisdom, understanding and other spiritual gifts.

When you get into the religious side of Christianity then yes it cost alot of money, but if you personally study what God is saying, then no it doesn't cost you anything, Christianity is a simple concept perverted by religion and nuts. God's salvation is simple, believe that Jesus is the son of God and He died for the sins of the world, that is it.

Fundamentalists want you to believe "salvation" is a free gift. It is not. Acceptance of it is it's price.

Even a free gift can obviously be priceless. All I have here He has given me, it is only mine to use while I am here. I don't mind giving it up to join Him one day and stand in His light.

Salvation isn't free. We may all experience everlasting life, but not salvation. We have to earn it.

I'll be interested to see what's said about this. I'm sure some will say you have to give nothing, you just ask for it and voila! Saved. They don't mention you have to give up rationality and thought in exchange for it...doesn't the bible say (essentially) don't think or reason about God, just believe?
