My hair is naturally blonde....about 6 months ago I went to a professional to get my hair darker. I liked it but I wanted my blonde back. So... I took it into my own hands and tried to do it myself, now... I have a orange gross color! Should I remove it with the Hair Dye Remover? I want it gone!!!!! and dont have lots of money to get it fixed.

bad. it still is a chemical. the fact that your hair is colored is already risky. getting dye remover is like damaging your hair twice...

Any hair dye or removal process can harm your hair and therefore is not ideal to use, however as many of us like to chop and change hair colour regular used in moderation these products can be ok - they will damage the hair but then again so does the sun, brushing, straightening etc - so long as your hair feels in good condition beforehand and you follow instructions, checking status regularly you should be ok. If you prefer not to harm hair you should dye with veggie based dyes - they only last about 3-6 weeks but they condition the hair rather than damage it like many more harsh permanent dyes and the dye is much easier to remove than these permanent ones.

Good or bad in what way? If you JUST dyed your hair , you can use a product called Metalex by Clairol (mixed with developer) to help lift just applied color. it doesn't work well on hair that was mis-colored a while ago ,tho, but will get some of the color out. Metal ex used by itself is a conditioner so I don't think it harms the hair but everytime you subject your hair to more "processing' it weakens it.

good, if you've dyed your hair dark and want to go lighter.

bad, because it's harsh on your hair.

also, it will NOT return your hair to its original color. it just lifts some of the color that the dye deposited, as well as some of the color of your natural hair. if your hair has grown out any since the last time you dyed it, be prepared to see bleached yellow roots if you use a dye remover.

Depends on if you are getting it done in a salon by somebody that knows what they are doing, or if you are doing it at home yourself.

I am a hairdresser and have before used color removers to remove color from clients that come to me with atrocious looking hair. You then need to re apply color to cover the stripped hair.

I would suggest getting it done professionaly.

I use prell, a clarifying shampoo, it doesn't remove the hair dye but it lessens the intensity and helps it fade out a bit.
if you went lighter, you could just dye it back to its natural color. as long as it's been about 2 months your hair should be healthy enough. and then continue to condition regularly.

Unless you cant live with your new color, dont do it. I have auburn hair and darkened it. Hated it, so tried the remover. It stripped it and dried it out. I was stuck with dry frizzy dishwater blond hair until it was healthy enough to color again.

Its fine...it just depends on the brand you use. You always have to recolor after removing hair color. Jeri Redding Uncolor is good...soo is Loreal Colorfix. These two brands are mild and don't mess your hair to much.

DYEING YOUR HAIR IS BAD. HAIR DYE REMOVER IS WORSE. I had to shave my hair and let it grow back. Now its beautiful, and natural. Hope everything works out.

hi hun you really should bleach or colour stripper first than put light brown on but yeas your hair will be damaged but i dont think it will fall out. in my experice i would wait 1 week first befor doing it again and for that week wash your hair in head and shoulders it stripes some of the colour out. to be safer you should go to a salon good luck xxx
