What is a good breakfast for after a short moderate cardio workout session on an empty stomach in the morning? Should I emphasize on protein to help rebuild muscles, and how many calories should I stay between?

You should actually eat a light breakfast before your workout so your body has the fuel it needs to work efficiently. I eat oatmeal and a piece of fruit.

Cardio doesn't breakdown muscles much, so a lot of protein is not required. The primary need is to replenish your glycogen stores so that your muscles will not be targeted for fuel.

Oatmeal, Fruit with 1-2 eggs and skim milk will provide a balanced breakfast.

no thats bull s hit you want to at least have some kind of fruits or whatever....its called breakfast cause its just that a break from fasting all night and your body needs something....if you want to build muscles...try fruits /veggies before your run then a protien shake or oatmeal(real stuff not that junkie packeted stuff) after workin out...trying to eat your carbs earlier in the am when your metabolism is faster is better just cause you'll see better benefits in the long run
