Hey everyone I am a resident assiant in my dorm, and during final exam week i wanted to run a program where we made stress balls, ate comfort foods and discussed good stress and study tips.
Is there anyone who can tell me the best way to make a stress ball? I have heard of sand, and even though i live on Long Island (the sandyiest place ever), there is no one selling it at a decent price cause its out of season. I have heard of flour or rice. I dont want to purchase everything and find it not work.
THanks alot :)

First off get a bunch of balloons and a funnel. Try going to a garden center (if there are any open) and see if they have sand or potting soil you can use. Flour would work pretty well. You can use hair gel. Get small, rounded beads. Sugar would probably work well. Just make sure you get something that is not going to rot.

You fill the balloon with the material of choice and tie it off.

Stress Balls work, because they allow you to get out anger, and by squeezing them, you use up energy. This makes you tire out, and calm down. If it was last night, there's a good chance you're rested up, and are stressed again. Try the stress balls again, but this time, also mentally tell yourself reasons why you should not be stressed.

I have heard of people using tennis balls, but then again it's been a long time since I held a tennis ball in my hand. I can't remember how hard they are to squeeze. For future use, a hand, and forearm strengthener, not to mention stress reliever, you should buy a set of hand grips. Or just buy one and switch hands when one hand gets tired. Those things never seem to break or get worn, the spring I mean.

To make your own stress ball, you will need some small balloons. Using a scissors cut the neck off of a few of the balloons. Fill up one of the balloons with uncooked rice, small beans or beads. Now, take a second balloon and wrap it around the first one to cover the opening. Wrap several more balloons around the ball to thicken the wall and adjust the firmness to your liking. Squeeze away!

Hope this helps.

tennis balls are perfect because they have enough resistance and won't break by squeezing them (And the is no season in which to get those and as for the sand a shovel makes it very accesible, no I am not condoning criminal activity if it is illegal here in australia it isn't [the real sand capital of the world])

you can try play dough. Mix flour, water and a little salt until it's the right consistancy. Or why not gather your own sand from the beach?

The best way to make it is with flour. Just fill up a baloon with air to stretch it out and then after you let the air out fill it with flour.
