I would really like to get a lab mix........was planning to adopt from an animal rescue. I had a lab/boxer mix at one time and was the best dog that I have ever owned. Any suggestions on another breed that would be a good match with a lab?? How about a lab/beagle mix??

Both are very high energy dogs and need a ton of exercise and mental stimulation. . If you have the time to spend exercising and training them, either would be a good choice. It also depends if you want a larger or smaller dog. A puggle is nothing more than a high dollar mutt and could have the best qualities of both dogs or the worst of both dogs. If you want a "puggle", please adopt from a shelter instead of giving money to unscrupulous "breeders". www.petfinder.org

It all depends on the individual and the lifestyle of that person as well as living situation (house, apartment, country, city), . I always say go for a mutt.

If you are out in the country, or have a lot of outdoor and well as indoor room, get the lab or beagle. Apartment? I would say puggle. But if you live in an apartment and are getting a dog you better be prepared for the difficulties of not having your own yard. Not to mention house breaking a puppy.

Good luck!

Why would anyone want to cross two different breeds of dogs? I think that is just horrible! If you have a lot of time to play with and train go with a beagle. You will need extra time no matter what, but Labs tend to not need as much attention as beagles. Although, labs do love LONG walks. Be prepared for a schedule change with either of those two selections.

I have had bad experiences with labs, beagles are good dogs but they are wild, so that leaves a puggle.

depends on what you want and your lifestyle. There is no best breed because each individual animal has its own personality.
Try looking for a temperment and size that fits your lifestyle. Dont limit yourself to a breed just because of the name. You may be pleasantly surprised.

puggle
Because of longer legs, more room in the skull for the eyes, and less effusive wrinkle
uggles have the mild mannered yet playful 'lap dog' qualities often associated with Pugs, mixed with the more energetic tendencies typical of the hunting qualities of a Beagle

It depends on what you are looking for in a dog. They are all great dogs for different reasons (although I am against breeding "designer dogs", I breed PURE BRED pugs, not designer mutts) Think about what you want in a dog and RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH
