Replace with government, and I might agree.
There aren't more of them, it's just covered more in the press. I can't remember the last time I heard of a pedo in the church, but I'm sure they are still there.

Because their religion taught those men that homosexuality is a sin. So, to stay away from temptation they joined the priesthood.
But, those men are only human after all, and their carnal desires (no matter how twisted) would resurface over time.
Thus, the strict Catholic laws governing sexuality are in essence the reason that the pedophiles are in the priesthood.

They aren't .. it's school teachers with highest by percentage.. it's just made into big deal because its so extraordinary.
You can also do a search for teachers being caught with students or running away with students. Some hit big time news others are considered isolated cases but it really makes you wonder why the media does not make a bigger deal about it.
Currently there is no 'reporting central' anywhere but there was an article in the Boston Globe if you care to take a read at it:

Stats, please. I've seen a thing on Dateline, and I can't remeber how many pedo's they arrested (100 at least) in their last sting, but they only mention one holy man, and no priests. I think you think priests have the most pedos becasue that's what's hot news right now. Show me the stats, or it's just your warped opinion.

incomplete research.... look at Jehovah's Witnesses and some other groups that do not have priests.
There are pedo's everywhere. Like the Ted Bundys they blend in.
