REMEMBER THE ALAMO...

If illegals can't freeload off Texas, then they'll go elsewhere. Then the Texas economy will be able to provide more jobs to LEGAL ALIENS and other AMERICANS that are looking for work. Personally, I would deploy armed NG Troops and citizen volunteers on our borders both North and South. NO PERSON should be allowed to enter our country without a sponsor, a reason to be here and a good background check.

This is great news. I moved to CA from texas when I was 15 and have been here for 11 years. In another year or two, I might decide to move back just because these laws have been passed. Better yet, I'll move to Escondido, it's not too far from me and I can still keep my job. Thank god some lawmakers have the balls to start giving citizens their rights back. I also agree with taxing money that goes to families in Mexico. This is in no way racist, but people will say it is. Every dollar made in America was originally intended to be taxed, no matter who you are, so I don't see anything wrong with it. I get taxed for everything I spend and earn, along with every other honest, hard working American citizen. So I think the illegals and all the others should join the ball game. It's good to know that I'm not alone in my ways of thinking and there are actually people out there with common sense. I mean, how can someone protest and make a discrace out of the American flag when they are on American soil illegally? If that's not disrespect for this country that we live in, then I don't know what is.

Texas, other states and citys across the U S A, are doing what Washington should do. It is time to show the illegal immigrants, that our laws must be respected.

I applaud Texas on this. I know it is a difficult decision to have made, when you consider that people are people, no matter what. Truth is, we really need to be concerned more about our own people. We can not possibly care of the entire world as many seem to think we can, not at the expense of our own.
Wow.. one state finally getting their act together. Fantastic!

If enough states show some initiative maybe the fed will be inclined to help out plugging up the border leaks and getting rid of the existing criminals. Dems are not so much to cater to big business so we might see some real improvements now.

It is good it is about time illegal immigrants take the responsibility for all the years of natives having to defend them.

I think it's a step forward because it's been abused probably beyond repair. There is a bottom to the pockets and we've reached it. Their disregard for our laws is killing the golden goose. Assistance isn't entitlement. Abuse these oppertunities and you loose them.
