I'm trying to drink a lot of water, but iced tea tastes better...if I drink a large 32 ounce of iced tea, will that help toward my "drinking more water" goal?

I don't really think iced tead tea is as helpful as water. The soul reason why water is good for you is because it has nothing in it (eg. chemicals). In those iced tea bottles, there are tons of carbs, no proteins, and probably some sodium and choresterol that isn't good for you. In this case I would recommend you drink a lot of regular, home-made tea, because no chemical reactions occur -- just water and other stuff in a mixture/solution.

Yes it does help towards the 8 glasses a day rule. But the caffeine in it may dehydrate you a bit which negates just a bit of the 32 oz. Plain iced tea with lemon is the way to go, no sugar or anything else. Then it is good for you.

while iced tea has water in it, it will certainly not compensate for drinking water. if you drink that much iced tea, be sure to think drink the same amount of water. also, be sure to drink unsweetened iced tea, or you could end up with kidney stones.

What is a good substitute is filling a jug with water, and then add whole citrus fruits in it (lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, or all of them.) The water will taste delicious and refreshing!

Yes it will, and you will be getting plenty of anti-oxidants to boot! My grandmother and grandfather died at 104 & 106 respectively and they drank almost a gallon and a half a day! My grandmother said her secret to living long was: 1.drink a lot of tea! 2.live in a lower stress environment like the south. 3.And go do what ever you want just as long as you do not hurt yourself or anyone else! (there is even scientific research out there that proves the benefits of drinking various teas to tame ills and to live longer!)
there are two ways of checking to see if you are well hydrated:
1. hold your arm out straight and pull the skin on your elbow out and release it, it should return quickly and feel firm.
2. check the color of your urine, if it is not clear or have only a very, very faint straw color to it you are dehydrated and need to drink more fluids!

Well if your iced tea has ZERO sugar content, I guess it'll be okay. Otherwise you will get diabetes. Tea is good for losing weight and it's ok if you drink large 32 ounce of iced tea if it is non-sugared.

Still, you must take water for your body needs and to achieve your goal.

tea isn't water! tea puts other chemicals in the water that makes it not water!
i mean pop and everything else is mainly water but still not water alone!
the best way to drink more water is not to look at it as drinking more water!
try doing a few things!
that has helped me!
wake up and when you brush your teeth get a glass of water and drink it before you leave the bathroom!
even a coffee cup size ! just to get it out of the way!
then after each meal wash your mouth out with a warm class of water! <-- this is good to be warmer after you eat so the greese or oils in your food don't harden and cause you to gain wait.. when oil gets hard it can't pass threw your system to leave your body so it stays there so if you drink warm fluids then it will help you pass stuff better! look at the other culteers from asia, chinise drink hot tea!
then before you go to bed drink a glass of water again!

if the taste bothers you get some fruit and squeeze some in there!
but tea isn't to bad for you so i would still do the tea!
but i'm a tea drinker!

joesgoals.com helps you keep track of stuff!
you can award youself for every glass of water by a point system it's need! wanted to share
Rock on!
