It depends. In the USA they use different measurements to Europe. US uses 16 fluid ounces to a pint so that gives 8 x 16 = 128 fluid ounces but in Britain there are 20 fluid ounces to a pint (Imperial) so a gallon there would be 8 x 20 = 160 fluid ounces.

There are four quarts in a gallon, two pints in a quart, two cups in a pint, and eight ounces in a cup. Therefore, there are 128 ounces in a gallon.
