The proofreading of the KJV was very strict! It took 50 men 7 YEARS to come up with the final draft because if ANY mistake, no matter how minor in syntax, punctuation and etc. was found, the ENTIRE thing would be redone from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22 : 21 ! Therefore, it's virtually impossible to know exactly how many drafts were needed.

Resisting the obvious pun ....may I humbly point out that you refer to the publishing aspect of a book.
No publishing was done till the time of Gutenberg.
If you refer to the WRITING of said book, there again your question is vague.
Some of the Bible is poetry (Psalms).
Those poets might have made many drafts before the final copy.
Other portions are prophecy ....its safe to assume God got it right the first time out.
Much of the NT are Paul's letters.
Since they did not have Microsoft Word, its safe to conclude they made a humongous effort to get it right the first time.

Um, none?
KJV, translated ONCE from the original documents. 51 scholars, 7 years, strict guidlines not to add or take from the word.
Researching a question before you ask it, will get you a long way. The answer is out there, factually based and supported by history.
