Yes, But have you considered that they may be driven underground. Also, Have you thought about the mob who are more than happy to take the law into their own hands.
I think we should think more carefully about the whole issue and consider the implication of such a decision instead of a knee jerk reaction!
And also, have you considered that some people would not like to know as it will ruin the quality of their life if the knew that next door neighbour is a paedophile !

Why? Are you aware how easy it is to get placed on that register? You don't have to be a risk to anyone to get placed on it.
This is from what I have read. Also, I think that the word 'paedophile' should be scrapped, because it now embraces relatively mild and technical sexual misdemeanours. It has become too emotive.

I agree with that one... If I caught a pedophile in my neighborhood it's ON! He will not be comfortable, there's more than one way to skin a cat, but now I know where not to be living at, 'cuz I don't need the trouble.

trouble is it incites vigilanties who often get the wrong person (as happened when the news of the world did the same thing a few years back.)
good idea in theory but people cant be trusted not to abuse the information
