Hi :)
Nose piercings are beautiful!
Your lump is a pretty natural reaction, actually. Whatever you do, dear god, do not put gold in your piercing. Gold is a pourous metal and while it might be fine in an earlobe, it belongs nowhere else. Your stud might be silver in color, but if it's actually sterling silver, go get it changed. You want jewelry that is medical grade stainless steel or titanium in a new piercing.
Also, if the jewelry is the "bone" type of nose jewelry, where you jam a little ball through the hole to "hold it in" that is bad. You want to switch to what is called a "nostril screw."
Chances are, you piercer was smart enough to give you a stainless steel nostril screw (which is silver in color :)
As far as the bump, there are a number of things you can do:
1. Lay off the makeup on your nose. Do not get makeup in your piercing or it will freak out.
2. use warm saltwater in a mug. Put your nose in the mug and blow bubbles. The warm saline will help draw out any **** from your piercing, and remove any irritants.
3. If your piercing infects, sometimes witchhazel will sooth the skin around your piercing. If you nose is sore, just dab a little on 2x per day.
4. If you truly have a bump, talk to you piercer about using non-diluted teatree oil... make sure you get some instructions on best places to buy it in your area, and frequency of use. This is STRONG Stuff. It can irritate the hell out of your skin. But, it also draws out any inflammation and infection so that your nose will heal.
Noses are not overly temperamental piercings. Once you get them healed, they pretty much stay that way until you get a serious cold and you rub it too much.
I wish you well, just know that 80 % of people who get their nose pierced fight "the bump". If you'd like to do some more research, check out bmezine.com.
Good luck,
Rob

i had this appear just after a month of having my nose pierced. I found dabbing hot water with salt eventually shrank the bump. it has never returned since. I got this advice from a nose-piercing forum, but it was a few years ago so I cannot find the forum now. i think they also suggested teatree oil. But the good news is, the bump does go withing a week or so. What did help also, was changing the original nose stud because I found it aggravated the problem once the bump appeared. So changing the stud may help, otherwise yes, bathe the bump with saltwater first thing in the morning and at night.

I'm sorry I do not know much about piercings but you shouldn't try anything funny with your nose that much because you might end up looking like----
If you are unsure about it that much I think that you should see a doctor
You know that bump in you nose could really spoil your face and you'd have a bad nose so um
Mhh..

I strongly advise you to go visit the place you got it pierced or to give them a call. I got a piercing on my ear (the part you push down when "closing" your ear) and it had a bump that never healed. After a year, I just let it close. I figured that would be better than getting a keloid on my ear... You DEFINITELY don't want a keloid on your nose, so have some one take a gander at it.

you are going to have to get a pair of wire cutters and just cut it off I had to do it for my Friend last month. You should buy the nose ring that has the hook on the end it really works better because your skin wont grow around it. Hope this helped.
