At That Time It Was Called Global Cooling and We Were All Going To Freeze To Death and The Plants and Animals were all going to die?

Yes, there was a lot of talk about the Earth being in an unusually warm period for most of recorded human history and that maybe it was getting close to another ice age. There were even some people saying it could happen any time, but most though it was some thousands of years away.

And remember in the 1980s when we were mad at Iran for holding our embassy staff hostage and everyone wanted the US to support Iraq (yes, Saddam Hussein was in power then) in its war against Iran? And how before that we did help the "freedom fighters" of Afghanistan against the Russian invaders. These same "freedom fighters" became the Taliban after the Russians pulled out. So we do not have a good record on making correct choices as to what the future will bring and doing the right thing about it. So I am not at all sure curbing our greenhouse gas emissions at great cost to the economy is really the right course of action. And anybody who says we can just switch to solar power and electric cars at very low cost is crazy!

Brr.The coming global warming could cause most of US to be in freezing zone if the melting of the ice cap dilutes the ocean salt water and the Gulf current no longer warms us. The equator will be hotter than hell and we will starve as no crops will grow. Other than that do not worry about it.

Really?
Sorry, I only remember the TV commercials with the environment was littered and the Native American stood and shed a single tear because the land of his ancestors was turning into a toilet.

Freezing... hmmm.... really?

dude, we are watching the polar ice caps melt....IN REAL TIME. It is not a drill! I repeat, NOT a drill.

I don't know anything about the science, the data, or the consesus from the 70's, but there is NO DOUBT whatsoever that the earth is warming. NONE, ZERO, ZILCH.
