We live in Texas and want to get married on a beach sometime next year. We both want something simple and special just for the two of us. Any suggestions for what time of year is not so blasted hot or any beaches that are the best for this type of event?

Don't know what area of TX you're interested in, there's alot of shoreline there!
Rockport is great. About 30 min NE of Corpus. They have a great pavilion on the beach (in case you need a backup location inside). It's not a crazy crowded beach either. Great small town with alot to see and do. We visit there alot, great fishing, great artist town, nice B/B's etc...

You could go to the Bahamas...very pretty...around late May. Or you could check into the Sandals resorts. They offer these things called Weddingmoons. Where you actually get married there and then stay for your honeymoon. The only problem with going out of the US is your going to have like a 3 day waiting period because of the marriage license laws. But Florida has some really beautiful beaches. Miami is a great place to stay and spend your honeymoon if you want a party atmosphere. Whereas Destin is more family oriented. The Carolinas also have pretty beaches and are alot less crowded than Florida. But also remember that Florida is a hot senior trip spot. You might not want to be on a beach with a million drunk 18 year olds. I'v never been to California but I'm sure that would be a great place to go if you want to do and see alot. You could even like stay at a great Bed and Breakfast in like Napa Valley (wine country). If you like that sort of thing. Your choices are endless. Maybe you two should sit and figure out what you both want out of it. Also hotel rates are higher in the Summer than if you would go in late Spring or early Fall on the beach. And especially don't forget about hurricane season. You definitely don't want a hurricane ruining your wedding. And then go from there. Good Luck!

Watch the weather before hand and make sure it's not going to ran, or be to windy... if you what I mean. The date should be special to the both of you, like the day you met or the day you two went somewhere special. I would say in the late spring or early summer?? I don't live in Texas so I'm not much help, but I hope I helped you narrow now you choices, and good luck with your up coming marriage ; )

Early May on South Padre Island. The beach is very close to Mexico, water is aqua blue and sand is white and clean. It will be a beautiful wedding. Congratulations.

The 4th of July....I know it's hot BUT 1) you will always have the day off of work, 2) you will always have fireworks on your anniversary, and 3) you will NEVER forget your wedding anniversary! Good luck!
