I just wondered why the Holy Ghost is left out in the dedicated days front. God has way too many (about 52 if the weeks are right), Jesus has two, his birthday and deathday (and several other minor ones around Easter) - shouldn't the Holy Ghost get at least one?

And thinking about it, isn't Halloween the most appropriate? We can all dress up in sheets and pretend to be the Holy Ghost!

Anyone agree?

God gets every Sabbath. One per week. I kinda liked that 'Holy Ghost has Halloween' joke. But in fact the Holy Spirit has Pentecost.

Football has Sundays and some god's have Saturday. Santa and the Easter bunny now have Christmas and Easter but I don't think mister dress up would mind if we gave Halloween to the holy ghost.

The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity, and He is in many of the feasts,

Theophany....Jesus' baptism, lights upon Jesus in the likeness of a dove.

Pentacost.....lights upon Apostles and believers in the likeness of flame,

Annunciation.....Told to Mary she will concieve Jesus by the Holy Spirit, and Mary says Yes, and allows the Holy Spirit to work in her life. Thank God she said yes!

Transfiguration....Jesus is transfigured on the Mount, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and you hear the Father's voice also, Jesus had the Holy Spirit in Him as He was God.

Elevation of the Holy Cross.....the Holy Spirit leads Saint Helen to find the Holy Cross...which turns out to be lifegiving, They knew it was the right cross because it raised a man from the dead.

So, right there, the Holy Spirit had something to do with those feasts, and there are a few more that He was a part of.

+ Halloween +

Halloween is actually like Christmas Eve. The night before a Christian holy day.

It is the eve of All Saint's Day or All Hallows Eve or Halloween. Just like "hallowed be Thy name."

But just like Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday), Halloween has taken on a life of its own.

Christians including Catholics do not fear death, evil, or satan. In Christ, we can laugh in the face of death.

From an email I received: Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside, and scoops out all the yucky stuff--including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

+ Pentecost +

The God sent the Holy Spirit to the Apsotles and disciples on Pentecost.

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. (Acts 2:1-4)

+ With love in Christ.

Sounds like a plan. But I thought Mithra had Christmas first.

Get it? Holy Ghost? IT'S A JOKE, PEOPLE.

Halloween is a pagan (and now secular) holiday. Christianity should have no place in it.
