No you will only make it worse try some thing else.
Just get the holes from a cheese with holes Jarlsberg as an example and let him eat the those, better for him, low calorie, filling, and tasty.
Or if he has a sweet tooth the holes from the Polo mints it will give him a sweet breath as well!
