The idea of anyone talking to an imaginary friend doesn't fit in with my scheme of things. Not that I have a scheme of things, to speak of!

This should always be part of our prayer to God.
"Thy Will be done."
As Jesus taught us in the Lord's Prayer and while praying in the garden, whenever we pray we want to pray for things that are in tune to the Will of God.

The best prayer for anyone to use is one which asks for God's or (the Goddesses') guidance on what is the Deities will for me and how best can I carry that out.
Don't ask for favours, you never know what the result will be if you get them!!
