well to begin:GRATITUDE!!
For leadership, thank the people you LEAD!!
Thank the people who gave you the opportunity to lead
Thank your mentors, thank your parents
Say you appreciate and respect the other competitors (if applicable)
say a little about how you will use the award to continue and expand on the good deeds you have accomplished so far
Say you feel compelled and proud to serve!
(if applicable) you are answering your calling
be humble, realize there are many good potential recipients and many other good causes

Make clear to your audience that you understand and appreciate their trust in you, you truly seek and need their cooperation
make them feel part of the team

that's enuff, either you get where I am coming from to build on it
