it's impossible. it will take at least a week if your lucky. go to the doctor and he/she may have something stronger than what you can buy at the drug store. Postpone your date in the meantime.

You can't get rid of it in a day, but you can decrease the swelling by applying ice to eat often. I have had them for years and I have found that if I feel one coming on, if I keep ice on it off and on all dy it will usually prevent it.
Toothpaste helps dry it out once it is too late.

dont worry about the cold sore - just tell him it's genital herpes!
but seriously, you cant get rid of it in a day, sorry. i'd get a woman to put some make-up on it for you if you're that worried about it.

For severe primary infections, or for frequent recurrences, antiviral drugs are available in an oral form or as an ointment. They will not cure herpes permanently, but they will speed healing. Antiviral drugs must be used early in order to be effective. Ask your health care provider if an antiviral drug would be appropriate for you.

this is not a pleasant solution, but I have a Friend that swears by it; dab a cotton ball soaked in finger nail polish remover on the affected area; it will burn like h***, but will clear up in a day to a day and a half!
