You either write in, or go down to your local court house, or where you last registered your vehicle. Go to the county clerks office if you cant find "titles and registration". Bring valid ID with you. It will cost you a small processing fee. Have your V.I.N. (Vehicle Identification Number) with you. THis is located on either the drivers side dahs, next to the winshield, and also located on the inside of the drivers door frame. There is a tag there as well. You are gonna look for the long series of numbers and letters. Take this number with you. If you have registereed license plates, take your plate numbers with you as well. Or easy way, contact your local insurance carrier, as they have all the vehilces information. Once you get to the Titles office, just tell them you need a copy of your title, as you lost the last one! No biggy, and in most cases, you will have it in 3 minutes!

Contact the DMV in the state where the car was titled, and apply for a duplicate title. In some states you can do this on line, some require the form be mailed!
