I've never seen a Gideon Church or heard of the 'Gideon' religion, so who does it ?

The Gideons' are business men who meet in different places and the men themselves put up a lot of money to buy Bibles. They talk in churches to raise money also. A minister cannot be a Gideon.

I think the Gideons makes the bibles and distributes them free to the motels and the motels themselves place them in the rooms. I think the gideons is a church for travelers. If I remember right the truck drivers started it or something.

Gideons is a world wide organization of business men who are christians and want to make the Bible available to anyone and everyone who wants one. They have been around for a lot of years and only accept lay people as members. I was never able to join since I am an ordianed minister and they do not allow clergy to be members. They are an excellent organization and have done much good for many years.

The Gideon's do. It's a men's religious service organization that also hands out bibles on street corners and college campuses periodically.
