In religious matters people argue to believe in blind faith, but where is the difference in Christian blind faith and let's say the blind faith that was used in....

"The Manson Family"
"People's Church" (Jonestown)
"Heaven's Gate" (Hale Bop)
"Aum Shinrikyo"
"Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God"
"Catholic Inquisitions"

All done in the name of God and through blind faith. Religious groups never seem to question their sources, yet say how everyone else is at risk.

Blind faith implies not questioning the source, be it God or Charles Manson. And blind faith IS bad, for Religion, for Society, and for individuals.

I have faith, educated, researched faith, and answers to all my questions. There is a diffrence between educating yourself on the source, and following without question.

Good Question, and good point as well.

"All done in the name of God and through blind faith."

I believe your statement is only half true.

The creation of a cult and cult mentality, along with religious wars and the Inquisitions which murdered millions of innocents, were most certainly perpetrated under the name of god. In this I fully agree with you. It amply demonstrates the kind of hypocrisy that is often exhibited by religions and religious organizations. But...

Blind faith played only a minor role in these heinous acts. The real evil is found in those who orchestrated these horrible events. The ones seeking power, be they Pope Gregore & Pope Innocent during the Inquisitions or a character like Charles Manson. Frankly, it is my humble opinion that without the desire for power and ultimate control, none of this would have happened. These people "used" blind faith to achieve their ends but they are the fundamental source of the pure evil which motivated these terrible, unthinkable and completely unconscionable moments in history.

The difference is, these followers were looking towards a PERSON, ie, Charles Manson, Jim Jones, etc. They obviously had no clue about what Jesus or the Bible said about their "leaders" teachings, or they never would have gotten themselves into such a fix! That's the difference in the nutshell. Not done in the name of God, done in the name of their "leader"...not the same at all. Good question.

While I am not sure what you mean by "blind faith," any rudimentary analysis of the beliefs of the groups you mentioned will show that they have little in common. For you to group them together with the imprecise (and rather loaded) concept of "blind faith" is a touch disingenuous.

Matthew 7:16, Matthew 7:20, says You will know them by their fruits, in other words be wary of false preachers who smile alot and then lead you into a path of destruction.what have they done that helps you. Is their character leading you to hope or controlling you to the point of death..

Mark 12:24 ; and Jesus answered unto them, do ye not therefore err, because ye know not what the scriptures says, or the power of God there in..

So is driving in rush hour traffic. I have faith that no one is going to shoot me out of road rage, or wreck into my car. It's blind faith to say you're gonna be safe.
