Actually, I have a pamphlet on that-because I just bought a $90 ham and they give you a pamphlet on refrigeration, heating, cooking, etc and turkey is in there. It says you should refrigerate it as soon as possible to keep it fresh. It will keep refridgerated for approximately 5 days and it is best served directly from refrigerator. Then to heat it, heat at 300 degrees for 10 minutes per pound or until it is warmed to your taste.

I don't leave a frozen turkey in my fridge past 3 days. After that I either cook it or throw it out. Better to be safe than in the hospital fighting for my life.

If it is frozen soild it will be ok. It takes 1 day for every 3 to 5 pounds to thaw in the fridge. I am assuming you are talking about an uncooked turkey. Anyway. After it is thawed it will be good for another 3 to 5 days. you'll be OK.

I examine an interview with Alton Brown approximately brining. He stated that he's began to easily placed a frozen turkey in to the brine for some days and letting it thaw out that way... for sure you may desire to maintain issues cool, etc etc... so in the experience that your turkey continues to be somewhat frozen, you ought to be ok, yet i could commence the brine a sprint faster.

I think 5 days is the limit for a fresh turkey, but if it says to cook from frozen, it needs to stay in the freezer.

these people are dumb. there should be no worries about salmonella because you plan to cook it, right? i would say 10 days is pushing it but providing it was rock solid when it went in and your fridge is reasonably cold, you should be fine.Mine went in the fridge on tuesday and I am cooking it monday. You would be surprised how long that little sac of giblets stays frozen inside the bird.
