Whenever he can reach, my kitten wants to lick my nose, eyes and, lately, my lips. If I close my eyes he won't lick there, but he follows my nose when I move it away (and looks hurt at the same time). he especially want to so it in the morning and at night when we're trying to go to sleep.
Is he after the scent? Does he love me? Is he just strange?
My other kitten (both male) doesn't do it unless he's feeling REALLY affectionate - which isn't often.

No silly answers please.

Cat licks are the highest form of flattery! this shows they love you and respect you a great deal, its also a sign of trust.

It sounds to me as he is young that it is a natural 'suckling' instinct. Although it sounds a bit gross your nose (and eyes and lips) are probably reminding him of his mothers teats (soft and slightly moist) so he's trying to feed. If he 'paddles' his paws at the same time then that's definitely what he's trying to do (kittens pump the side of the mother when feeding to stimulate the milk flow).
This doesn't necessarily mean he's hungry, cats do this as a comforting and affectionate thing too - I used to have a cat that used to do it any wool (ie. jumpers and stuff) until he was covered in dribble! When they're older it's a learned thing and they do it to feel comforted - it reminds them of being kittens and feeling safe.
It's similar to if you gently pick a cat up by the scruff of the neck it will automatically tuck it's back legs and tail under it's body as that is how the mother moves them around as tiny kittens - just a little fact for you!
Hope that helps. Enjoy your beautiful kittens!

My cat does that as well - I think it's an affectionate gesture. She does it with her eyes closed and purrs and is so content doing it but kitties love to give their love nibbles and on an area sensitive like the nose it will cause you to bleed. My kitty licked and licked and finished off with a love nibble that left me bleeding so I move away when I think she is going to bite my nose but she moved to my chin instead haha. It's just affection. Enjoy it!!!

One of my kittens does this. It is just her way of being affectionate. She will sit and lick me on my face and sometimes she will act like she used to when feeding off her mum. She will lick me and paw me at the same time. I think this is becuase she now sees me as her mum. I find some cats that are timid do this.

Perhaps he's just being affectionate and prefers your face to anywhere else - is he trying to wash you? Perhaps he finds it comforting? My female cat loves to lick but will only lick hands or fingers - nothing else.

Your kitten may have considered you and yet another human kissing? Ours began doing that once she'd considered me and DH kissing, and he or she wakes me up now and again that way too. How darling! Your kitty must be close to to you, and trusts you, to get so close.

when my cat was a kitten, she would purr and suck on my earlope whenver i was trying to sleep. I kept pushing her away from my ear and just petting her where she liked being petted, and eventually she stopped. Now she just purrs and cuddles and makes me pet her. Your kitten is just being affectionate and is grooming you. It's a good thing. He loves you!
