Man, that sucks. I would think it would need a professional cleaning though.

You don't want to risk a do-it-yourself job on something as important as a wedding dress. Take it to a reputable cleaners (do NOT go to Dependable- they have ruined several things of mine that meant a really lot to me!!) and explain the situation to them. They will probably have just the thing to get it out safely. Dry cleaners work on wedding dresses all the time. They specialize in cleaning the dresses after the wedding and packing them in nice keepsake boxes to prevent them from yellowing. If a dry cleaner can get red wine stains and probably cake frosting stains out of a wedding dress, cat pee will be no problem!

Polyester garment can be rise in water. If you have a washing maching.you can soak the garment in,using normal cold water with a liquid washing detergent in small volume. Then later use the gentle wash program of your washing mach to wash.
However,if you have a space in your house,i recommend that you dry the dress at a place where there is worm temperature or even in your garden if you have one.I can guarantee that the urine smell will disappear if this method is applied..
The Finishing of your wed gun:
pls use a domestic steam iron (which is proteced with a teflon shoe)to steam the wedding gun gentlely.
please, remember it is easy to do but if you are a bussy proffessional, then I would like to suggest to you that ,the dress is send to a proffessional dry cleaner so as to be attend to.
I hope this info could help you to get rid off the smell of Urine.

having had cats all my life, i know they can be stinkers at times. i have found that 1 cup of cider vinegar added into the washing machine takes the odor of cat urine out of the clothes, rugs, blankets, coats, etc....

now i do not know material very well so i do not know if polyester can be machine washed or has to be dry cleaned. that you would need to ask someone else about.

hope this helps,
lily ;)

that really sucks. i'd try a dry cloth & a wet cloth. Putting the dry cloth under neath to absorb the fluids that the wet cloth releases (does that make sence? - pat the two together w/ the material in between) Or go to a dry cleaners.

I'd take it to a dry cleaner's. Some over-the-counter cleaners will simply turn the spot orange. Bleach may be too harsh for the material.

There is a product that you should be able to get at your local pet store. Do not fall for the cheap products that dont work at walmart.
