Normally you don't. If it has a .php extension the server will normally parse through the file and spit out a web page. You won't get the PHP script, only the HTML. Normally a PHP script is downloaded from a zip file or text file.

A PHP file is a script used by an Internet server to run "whatever" on a web site. Assuming that you could download the file (and they probably have it blocked to protect their site from hackers), it would most likely be totally useless to you. It is going to be designed to work on their server and their website, not yours. And will normally connect with dozens of others files on the site.

So there is no practical reason to download a php file.
