Actually it depends on the time they gave you on your visa I am from Spain and they gave it to me for 10 years, but it does not mean I can go to the US for 10 years. since a type b1/b2 is considered a tourist visa when you arrive in the airport you have to go trough immigration and they ask you a bunch of questions on the reason for your visit. then if they let you in they give you an I-94 card to fill out and they stamp the time they will allow you to stay in the US with your visa type the max time is 6 months which you have, if you go back to Italy before or on the day the 6 months expire you can come back the next day. if you go over the 6 months but stay less that 2 years the you have to stay out of the US for 3 years. If you go over 2 years after that I-94 card expires then you have to be out of the US for 10 years as penalty.

Technically, if you are in the US less than 6 months, you can come back. However, if you come for 6, go home for 3 days, come back for 6 months, and keep doing it, at some point, you will likely be deemed an immigrant without a visa and could be refused entry...in which case your visa would be cancelled and you would no longer be eligible for the Visa Waiver Pilot Program. In other words, you can't live here. Does that help?
