There are various HIV agencies around the UK - most cities have one and a few of the larger towns.

Check yellow pages or read the gay papers / magazines and look in the section towards the back - drop in areas etc etc.

It also depends in what way you would like to work with HIV and AIDS. Diagnosis, treatment, alternative / complimentary therapy/ respite care / emotional support / befriending?

Some really good things here, with opportunies to work as a volunteer to see if you can handle it - and also full time if you wish to make it a career choice.

The only minor irritation is that many folks assume that if you work for an HIV/AUDS org, you must be positive yourself, it can make fniding a partner harder!

Good luck

I am not sure why people make the assumption - it makes no more sense that assuming someone is living with a cancer diagnosis if they work as an oncologist. Reality is, a LOT of folks DO make the assumption that if you work in an HIV environment, you are probably positive yourself. I didn't mind particualry to be honest but it *IS* annoying when it interferes with your personal life.

You are brave and I admire that
Some people wouldn't want to even go near someone with HIV/Aids.

Try in Children's' homes or Save The Children.
