I just bought two, wonderful, cute, persian kittens. One is called Shadow, which is greyish black, and another called Yuffie, which is orange like garfield. They are both 2 months old, make and female. I want them to get used to thier names so that when i call them they come to me, how do I do it? Shadow is starting to get used to it a bit, but not Yuffie.

I used to have cats and they just got used to it by us saying their names and then shaking a Kitty Treat box and they would come running and so whenever we would call their names they'ed come. Try calling their names and shaking the kitty treat box after you call them. ;) I worked for my cats.

in effortless terms a question, yet how long did those formative years cats you had rather stay? the subject with letting a cat outdoors is that the minute it steps off of your sources, it relatively is going to become straightforward interest. straightforward interest to animal administration, loopy cat females, an area toddler that brings it residing house and asks, "am i able to maintain it?" to no longer point out the autos, pollutants that some human beings leave out (rat poison) and feral canines. Even wild animals, finding on the place that's which you reside. the worry-free lifespan of a cat allowed outdoors is approximately 3-4 years. Indoor cats will stay longer, greater healthy lives: as much as twenty. additionally, opposite to universal theory, kittens should not be taken from their mothers till 8-12 weeks previous. it variety of sounds like a protracted time, yet mom cats and the kittens' siblings help in socializing each and every littermate. in the top, you carry residing house a beneficial, nicely-reared kitten which would be much less services to behavioral issues. the two way, better of success on the recent kitten.

I've seen this question before, it amazes me how many animals don't know their name. I've had cats, dogs, a cow, horses, guinea pigs, a parakeet, etc. They all knew their names. There is no trick to it. Just call them by their names.
I've gotten dogs from the pound that i changed their names and within a few weeks they were answering to it.
I have a cow that I raised from birth, she knew her name within a months time at the most. All my kittens knew their names within a few weeks.
Don't call them kitty kitty, call them by their name. It won't take long for them to learn it. Some of mine even sound alike. Sophie and Sephi, they know the difference when I call them.
I've also heard cats don't come when you call them. Mine do. I call them by name and they come running. If there were 4 sleeping in the living room, all I have to do is call one's name. The one I call will perk up and look at me, the other continue sleeping like they didn't hear a thing. Repetition is the key I suppose.

Seperate the kittens when you train them by name and use treats. If you have them both together it just confuses them. Use small treats and have them come to you when you call them and show the treat in your hands. That way they associate their name with the treat and sooner or later won't require treats. However having said that, cats aren't the most social animals and they may or may not care that you're calling their names.

It takes time for them to learn but keep calling their names - once they know their names they will love when you call them - when my kitty is lounging out on the window sill, if I call her name she throws her tail around - they'll learn them eventually. Good luck and congrats on being a new fur parent.

they're young enough to put leashes on. have treats ready and call their name (one at a time) while GENTLY pulling the kitten to you. smart keeping the names down to 1 or 2 syllables. it's easier for them. you are going to get at least 1 of them fixed i hope??? if not, i hope they're not bro & sis.
