my 7 yr old sm. mixed breed dog has 1 very red blood shot eye. it just happened. not sure why. doesnt seem to bother her. iam looking for a safe, over the counter or home remedy product that may help before iam charged up the u know what at the vet for something that probley isnt serious. its only been red for 2 days.

She may have hit it on something or scratched it. What you may try is go to a Pharmacy and ask the pharmacist if there anything from a Scratched eye to help it heal and feel better. There may be some over-the-counter eye drops that will help. Try a local place ask your parents or friends if they close about a local and not a Big Chain store pharmacy.
The other option is go to a Farm Supply store, they may have something people use for their animals.

Does it happen to be a beagle? They get cherry eye, I think they call it, a lot. It could be just something irritating his eye (just like it happens to people), but if it is still there or gets worse in the next day or two, take him to the vet. if it is cherry eye, there's a quick, easy surgery they can do.
