when you intend to find an answer to your confusions and doubts.
in a mere belief that there is divinity of omnipotence beyond us and speak in a universal language telling to the reasons you had to made and had to take then want something to be done and hoping for a said predicted blessing or miracles to come along. to the religious... may it be of goodness or for punishment or for unto his will.
its a state of mind searching for unity in a spiritual aspect, so its up to the minds longingness, so he prays to the depths of beyond and unexplainable connectivity.

You can pray all you want to.but the lord will not here you unless you are saved. From the moment you accepted Christ as your Saviour, your life has been changed. You have experienced a joy and peace which the cares of the world cannot take away. The blessed assurance. Was given to you as a free gift from God. Without doubt, you feel the compultion to thank him for what He has done for you it is completely fitting that you should feel this way. Prayer is communication with God. What a blessing to be able to talk directly to your Heavenly Father. As well, during times of prayer the Lord will also speak to your heart, giving you leading and direction, We are admonished to ask the Lord for the things that we need. He, as our Heavenly Father ,desires to do good things for us. However,we must remember that it is His will which we seek, and not our personal will. Consequently, all the things we ask Him for,and we should readily ask Him for whatever it is we need, should always be done with the idea in mind, that we want His Will and not ours.

Because some people think its actually doing something.... besides talking to the air....
Irritatingly enough... quite often they believe it strongly enough that if it relates to their own body, it can trigger a placebo effect that will cause the desired result. Doesn't work quite so well with out-of-body things though.
But essentially... its another example of the cluster illusion. They think it causes things to happen.... and sometimes the things in question do happen, and they falsely attribute it to the praying.... Doesn't help... really.

Prayer is the acceptance of the fact that there are certain things which are beyond our control. It is the request to a supernatural power or god to help us in our endeavours. When we pray we accept that the power to accomplish something on our own is difficult, sometimes even impossible.
For some, prayer is a relief to their tensions and struggles.

I look at praying as a time to reflect on the day.. to give thanks for all the good things in my life. To ask that my loved ones stay healthy and happy.
It's far more constructive to pray than to go around insulting people who have faith in something.

hi!dear!we pray because we need God's help...for example if u have a problem that nobody can solve, what will u do?the only way is to pray God,,he's the one who helps us even when we don't pray Him...he's the kindest,,if u pray Him,He'll even help u more..we need Him so we pray Him...also we love Him..when u love somebody what do u do?for example u love a girl,u may buy her lots of things,or do lots of favours for her,,so u'll do lots of things to satisfy her...now,think!we love God so we want to show our love towards Him,the only way is to pray Him...

Mainly to thank God and Mama Mary for that things they've done good
Reasons for prayer:
1. Praise God
2. Thank God for the good things
3. Ask for forgiveness from him
4. Ask for faith in hardships you've faced and for something you wish needed to be done
5. To believe in something and to keep our faith alive.
6. So you won't give up so easily in any bad things (mainly, karma)
Hope you understand now why we have to pray and why we need to pray. It's for ourselves and for our limited world.

You go and give all kinds of petitions to insignificant mortal human beings and salute them to get your work done. Is it not your duty to salute god who has given you life ,strength, power of speech, intelligence etc? Prayer is nothing but thanking god for his grace. You need not know any chant. there is no proforma to be filled up. No certificate of nationality or visa is needed.
They had taught me a simple prayer in my school
O'my God I love thee
for all thy benefits
specially for having helped me today.
Bless me always, bless my parents, relatives and friends, my teachers and benefactors
Bless my country too
