Go for a DSLR. It has no shutter delay. Nikon just came out with their D40 (should be available in store by the holiday season). If you can't wait. The Canon 350D or 400D or the Nikon D50 or D70s will be another good choices. Price range of the cameras I mentioned above will be anywhere from $600-900.

For compact cameras you'l have a small delay, but the fastest ones are the Casio Exilim series and Fuji S30
