Africa, Zambia to be exact. WOW! How amazing. We went on several safaris, animals everywhere! Even outside the animal preserves: wild monkeys stealing my candy and chasing me, stopping the car so a pride of lions could cross the road, hippos with their backs sticking out of the rivers! Some of the food I will never forget! For good AND bad! I'll never forget the grocery store with "fresh fried mice" painted on the side! There's still two foods I crave from there. There was this wonderful broth/barley soup they served everywhere, and THE best white bread I have ever tasted. Every other day was "bread" day and my Aunt, she lived there, would send us to the store for bread. They'd have a big gigantic box of bread and each loaf had a strip of brown paper around the center. We'd buy extra and eat it on the way home with our fingers!
I remember we had been driving for hours once, not a lot of convenience stores around, so my Uncle stopped off at this little local bar because we were out of anything to drink! Dirt floor, milk crates to sit on, and the bartender handed me a beer! (I was 11!) Incidently my Uncle made all the adult men carry in pocket knives, which he kept a supply of in his car!
We took this little plane, held about 20 people I believe, and to get to the bathroom we had to walk by crates of live chickens! We had to make a couple of stops on the way to our destination, and you should have seen the runways we landed on! Dirt and covered in terrible potholes!
The trip WAS like completely being on another planet! I would give anything to be able to go back again. In my younger years I thought about joining the Peace Corps and returning!

I've been to lots of cool places -

1. There's this stretch of highway just south of Crescent City, CA along the rocky beach which was incredible.
2. Toledo, Espana
3. Canyonlands National Park

Among many other worthy candidates.

My friend Anne's couch. It was this huge 3 piece sectional, increadibley plush. 3yrs ago. She had the X-mas tree all decked out in the corner, the only lights were the ones on the tree. The mood was just so cozy, romantic and right. We'd been dating for a couple of weeks, took her home after a party. Kissed her goodby and one thing lead to another. Afterwards, we cuddled and watched the snow fall.

The valley of the Fallen and Toledo (both in Spain)...
The Valley is a place where tons of statues are in representation of Christ and other religious history. It is really a breath taking place... (at least it was for me as a child)
and Toledo is a small little town within a wall and the streets are super narrow. It is famous for the black gold and being the home town of a famous painter name Cervantes.

Belize.
I was there doing research and was completely in the middle of the rain forest.
I also went to visit Laminae and Tikal (Mayan ruins) and went snorkeling on the reef.
The whole trip was amazing!

I've also been to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. We went in March and there were only a couple of other people there. It was so beautiful. We camped in a tent (in the snow), woke up to coyotes howling and got within 20 yards of a group of elk.
