Bonjela is useless. It slides off the mouth ulcer and you end up swallowing it. Get a bottle of antiseptic TCP instead and a clean cotton bud. Soak the cotton bud in the TCP and press it onto the mouth ulcer. Hold it there for about 30 seconds (it will sting like hell, but it's worth it to get rid of the ulcer). Do this 3 or 4 times a day and it should go away after a few days.

I agree with everyone else bonjela is useless. Salt water is good but doesn't always do the trick as quickly as you want. Try "Adcortyl in Orabase for Mouth Ulcers". It's expensive but I've found it invaluable as I suffer from these alot as well.

I found the best solution is to get a small amount of warm water and add 3 or 4 drops of teatree oil, shake the oil and water together and gargle for about 30 secs, do this every hour or so, and it will soon disappear!! Plus it is a lot cheaper that buying expensive brand name products!!

Try baby orajel applied to cotton. Also try putting aspirin on it.

Definately gargle in warm salt water, after the sting it will feel better and heal it at the same time.

No smoked and sharp cheeses and food for starters that will aggravate it.No citrus or spicy.

There is a cream called orabase (not sure if thats the correct spelling) it actually does stick (unlike bonjella) and it's well worth a try if you can't stand the pain of TCP or salt.

If the pain is really bad you could try Difflam mouthwash (from the Chemist) this has both antibacterial and Anaesthetic ingredients, so should ease the pain.

Hope this Helps!
