This is simply out of curiosity for me. I never have smoked it and I don't plan on EVER smoking it. I am a singer and I don't want to ruin my vocal chords. Plus, it can damage brain cells, I DO know at least that is true. BUT, I have heard some people say that you can still make good judgment calls and/or your motor skills AREN'T impaired when you're high, and others say you that these ARE impaired? Which is it? Or is this still being debated by scientists and the like? And if it IS true that you ARE impaired in some ways, then why do SO many people claim against that fact? Haven't they done their research?

i just answered ya other Q about this...
Yes pot can affect your lungs but thats only if taken but smoking a bong, joint or pipe. But there are other ways [healthier] to take it vaperisers, eating it... list goes on [i dont have time to siti here and name them all]
If your never smoked it do you honestly think your in a possion to pass judgement on this NATURALY GROW HERB? Yes it slows you down.. But its doesnt make a brain dead dumbass while ur on it.. But every peron is different. It depends on how you have it, how much you have, you body size, your tolerance to it and the strain its self!

It depends on where you do your research. In all honesty, most websites about marijuana are created by people who are biased against it. They twist facts to get them to show what they want them to show. Of course, people who create pro-marijuana sites do the same thing. It is really hard to trust most information that you hear.
However, I can give you some advice, because I happen to smoke it...well, frequently. In my experience, yeah your motor skills are impaired. Sometimes it's hard to walk properly, and sometimes it's hard to talk properly (although that's mostly because you forget what you're trying to say and the words neccessary to say it). It is very difficult for me to drive. My boyfriend is a good stoned driver though, it's a different experience for him. I would also like to let you know that I am a singer as well (have been in professional chorale groups for about 10 years now), and it has not damaged my ability.
Basically, I would compare smoking marijuana to drinking alcohol. You end up a little impaired, and a little messed up the next morning (if you do it right), but if you're looking to have a few hours of fun...it's good for that.

First of all, you aren't gonna damage your vocal chords because you aren't gonna smoke alot like you would if you were a cigarette smoker. You are impaired, but not as impaired as alcohol makes you. And drinking destroys way more brain cells than marijuana. I strongly believe smoking marijuana would be a helpful medicine for a lot of people. People with anxiety disorder, anorexics, insomniacs, and so on. Every drug doesn't agree with everyone, but weed alone, without alcohol or other drugs, usually produces no ill effects!

Smoking weed does impair your judgement, but it doesn't dull your senses like drinking. Although I don't advise either I would rather ride in a car with someone who has smoked weed than a drunk person.
People who smoke weed are definitely impaired, but are often able to function on normal tasks at the same time.

Depends on the person and how much they smoke. But like alcohol, you may not think these things are impaired but they really are. Some heavy smokers build up a tolerance and therefore their motor skills are LESS impaired than those who occassionally smoke.

I been smoking weed for bout 4 years now. An i was on probation. If you only smoke like joint, then all you have to do is drink water an it should be out in about a week. Also take cranberry pills they help clear your bladder. I smoked a blunt once an had a drug test 4 days later that i didnt kno about an i passed. An pills they only take 3 days to get out of your system. Well it depends on if you take alot of them everyday but say you pop 3 or 4 bars one night it will only take 3 days. Have fun an stay high!!!

yes you are impaired. you may not think you are because weed makes you think your doing ok. For some people, it doesnt affect them right away. It could take years before you realize that you can't remember, problem solve, or communicate like you use to. But don't get it twisted, IT WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU. And that's a fact. People just dont care because they live for today not knowing that they could be sober and happy without tha bong. Or maybe its just me because I use to smoke weed.

in my experience my motor skills were affected somewhat.but i did find i was more of a free thinker, and more creative.i do believe the question of brain cells has been answered many times.i thiink so many people claim that thier motor skills arent impaired to validate thier own continued use.i must also mention that i believe it affects you less than drinking alchohol.in terms of health and in motor skills.my opinion is that it is better to smoke than drink, although the legal ramifications should be enough to deter most people especially as you get older and more established(you have more to lose)

Well I smoke everyday, I think it slows down my reflexes slightly and I know I get short term memory loss, however I can still drive, and carry on a conversation. I don't get all stupid from it, and I don't get lazy. When I am high I start cleaning like a mad woman. The only reason it is bad for you is because you smoke it, if you just ate it,it would not harm your lungs and you would still get just as high.
