Here is the authoritative word on the subject:
2Thes 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Till we see the Man of Sin we are not, were not, and will not be at the end.... Jim

Well if you want to talk about wars and rumers of wars then think of this for while.
Actrually there are less wars now than there was 100 years ago.
Rumors are flying around all the time about war and at this time it seems like there is very little else people talk about.
Now if it is 100 years after Israel got its land then you wll have to wait a little longer. It was 1948 when they took the land.
That land was promised to them by te alied forces of the first world war in 1917 to get money to help finance the war effert. No the USA was not part of the alied forces in that war. It was not until after the WWII that it ws possible for the Jews to actually take posesion of the land.
The end comes for all of us eventually and I am getting much too close to it. The law of averages does not give me a lot of time to go. I sure am going to try and beat that law.
A plague is coming and it is needed to reduce the population by at least two thirds. It will not be the end of people and the ones left will eventually overpopulate the planet again.

its not suprising to hear that some of us here dont believe that the end is near why because it happend before. first in the time of noah. people only laugh at noah and accusing him that he is crazy. but we all know that the great flood came. the next one was with Lot that was the time of Abraham. it rain ball of flame in Sodom and Gomorah. We believe that the end will come, as well as his second coming. Christ Himself promised that He will return (John 14:1-3), a promise echoed by the Apostles (I Thessalonians 4:15-16).
We commanded to prepare for the second advent of Christ for no one knows the exact day and hour of His coming, except God, the Father (Matthew 24:36, 42, 44).
Christ, however, knows and He told us the signs which indicate that His second coming is already near. These are wars, famines, earthquakes in different places, as well as increasing hardships and wickedness which shall cause the love for God of many to wax cold (Matthew 24:6-8, 12).
The second coming is the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. On this day, the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire and be burned (II Peter 3:7, 10). The sound of the day of the Lord is bitter, the mighty man cries aloud there. Neither silver nor gold shall be able to deliver man on the day of the wrath of the Lord (Zephaniah 1:14, 18).
as to those people who dont believe see my source below.

This is what i am thinking. I do not believe in the end times thing. I think that i must die and that is that. I do not think that the world will come to an end because there is a prayer that refers to the world as a world without end. It cannot go on without us even though we have spent many time destroying it.
The same book says that all of mankind will end yet people running around the place talking about getting saved so that they could go to heaven.
I really do not need any extra confusion in my life.
When will all this happen? You said for fun. I say the next four days which will be approximately 4 million ages in Gods eyes.
In the book of confusion it states somewhere in Genesis that 1 day is like a million ages in his sight. So there. Enjoy it while it lasts. We only have four days left.

In Matthew 24 Jesus said "just as in the days of Noah so will the coming of the Son of God be". Noah and his family was saved from God's wrath. So will the children of God be spared before God pours out His wrath this time.
There is no more prophecy that needs to be fuliflled before God calls His children home ( raptured ). Rev. 4:1 Come up hither.
There is a little more prophecy that needs to be fulfilled before Jesus sets up His kingdom on earth. Anti-Christ rules for 7 years, 4 horsemen, etc. Read Rev. 6 on the 4 horsemen. Interesting part on the 2nd horseman (red horse). He has a great sword, a sword is a weapon. Weapon is maybe a nuclear device? My advice is try to catch the rapture.

No. I'm definitely sure a person 50-60 years ago thought just like you that maybe the end of the times were going to happen either back then at that time or in the year 2000 or something, but guess what? We're still here. Whatever made us or brought us here to live on earth, didn't do it so we could die by genocide if we don't follow unorthodox Christian belief systems. I believe theirs more to our lives as humans than to follow such "black and white" thinking.

I do believe we are near the end times, but I certainly don't have any "inside info" to tell me when. Jesus said He would come as a thief in the night, meaning we would be taken unaware by His return. No one, no matter what they say, could know. The bible clearly states this. When He comes, the bible tells us, He will descend from heaven and the "dead in Christ" (those who have followed His instructions and became Christians and are dead and buried) shall rise and meet Him in the air. I, as a Christian, DO look forward to this day. Not that I want to die, but I am assured of a heavenly home with God that will be beyond paradise!

We are closer to the end today than yesterday. no one knows the day or the hour except the Father, but we know the season as it is like in the days of Noah. keep your eyes on Israel my friend. if this country turns our back on them we will be cursed as the Word says; I will curse those who curse Israel. Iran is a key player also. also check out the link listed below for more up to date info about the end times.

Let's talk about the middle ages. There were far more wars, more plagues, more famine and probably more floods yet I don't remember seeing anything about Jesus showing up in any of my history books.
