Supposedly comes from Job 40:15 - 24. Aside from the obvious fact that man and dinosaurs never existed at the same time, they claim that the phrase "His tail sways like a cedar" means that only dinosaurs had tails like that. However, the problem is that anyone that has at least the most basic understanding of English will notice that "sways like a cedar" means the movement is like the movement a cedar has, not that the tail physically resembles a cedar. Either way, what dinosaur has ever had a tail that looks like this: http://universe-review.ca/I10-22a-cedar.jpg

So why do you keep pushing this ignorant lie?

(PS. I know someone will say about dinosaur blood found in montana; that is false. They found tissue, but they didn't find ANY red blood cells. And even if they did, that doesn't porve they existed at the same time as humans.)

The correct answer, of course, is that ignorant lies are necessary to the defense of the religion.

Why would you expect honesty of someone whose goal is to defend a religious belief system? Honesty is simply not a very high priority there.

Dinosaurs did no longer pass extinct by way of flood, by way of fact the Bible says 2 of each animal grew to become into on the ark. If dinosurs have been alive in Noah's day, and that they weren't on the ark, then the Bible could be mendacity. Dinosaurs had to be on the ark. Dinosuars went extinct for 2 motives: a million. by way of harsh situations on earth after the flood. and a couple of. by way of fact people hunted them. The flood handed off approximately 4,4 hundred years in the past, yet creation Scientists suspect that dinosaurs did no longer improve into extinct until approximately 3 or 4 thousand years in the past. So interest probable observed a number of the final behemoths and leviathans in the previous they went extinct.

Some dinosaurs (and pterosaurs) may have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea creatures.” Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.—Genesis 1:21 ( So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good." ) New KJV
When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when. We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah God for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake, no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time. Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God.
Some of the older translations of the Bible at times use the word “dragons” to translate the Hebrew tan·ni·nim′ (“sea creatures, ). (Ps. 74:13--" Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. 148:7-- " Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps" Isa. 27:1-- "In that day Jehovah with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the swift serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea." Am. Standard Version
The term “dragon” (Greek, dra′kon) is found in the Christian Greek Scriptures. Dinosaurs were the giants of the animal kingdom, a remarkable testimony to God’s power of creation. Only our Creator knows why the dinosaurs disappeared from the earth.

You have already made up your mind and you are looking for debate. And I think it is hilarious that you dare to attempt to inform Christians that we are interpreting the Bible incorrectly. Why should YOU be the one that understands that "sways like a cedar" means the movement of a cedar and not the tail resembles a cedar. Did God impart this wisdom to you or are you just soooooooo freakin' intelligent that we can't possibly aspire to your intellect.

Basically, it boils down to "we have our religion, and you have your's".

I'm a cradle to grave midwest Christian and have NEVER been heard of anyone being taught that the book of Job mentions dinosaurs.

My family and almost all friends/associates are Christians and I've never heard this one discussed at all.

There are over 2 billion Christians and that means a lot of different interpretations/theories out there.

People ask where dinosaurs are found in the Bible.
Job 40 and 41 are plausible explanations for dinosaurs.
Behemoth and Leviathan are creatures that fit the general description of dinosaurs.

The problem is that you pan anything and everything in the Bible. Even when given examples, you reject them.

You are exercising your free will (also in the Bible) and choosing to believe what you want, in spite of examples and evidence.

Some Christians feel the need to know the mind of God. I personally think one can never know the mind of God, one should try. I don't see why the theory of evoloution can't get along with Christianity at all. If we agree God created the earth, why does it matter how long He took? How can we know what time is to God? We base our time on how long it takes us to go around the sun. Does God rotate around the sun? God's everywhere but that doesn't mean He bases His time off of earth time.

In answer to your question, I never heard that and it's bizarre that people interpet something so literally.

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that Job referred to crocodiles. This explains it all:

The description in Job 40:21-23 seems to allude to the area around Lake Huleh which was filled with buffalo. His tail is like a cedar branch that can easily bend or sway. This does not mean his tail was as long as or as big as a huge cedar tree for verses 21-23 say, "Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. The lotus conceal him in their shadow" (NIV). Reeds and lotus can not hide a huge dinosaur.

The Epic of Gilgamesh describes the battle with the Bull of Heaven. Enkidu seized the Bull by the horns. "The Bull of Heaven foamed in his face, it brushed him with the thick of its tail. Gilgamesh followed the bull, he seized the thick of his tail, he thrust the sword between the nape and the horns and slew the bull". The "thick of his tail" does not mean a dinosaur’s big tail, but the tassel at the end of its tail. The Akkadian is ku-bur zib-ba-ti-su, meaning "thickness of his tail". "It refers to the tassele at the end of the tail in contrast to the thin middle part". The horns of the bull are plated with lapis two inches thick, weighing thirty pounds, and holding 105 gallons each. This was a huge mythical bull which is associated with the constellation Taurus, the bull.

Gilgamesh also battles another monster called "Huwawa" (Babylonian) or "Humbaba" (Assyrian) who lives in the Cedar Forest. Huwawa is described by "his roaring is the flood-storm, his mouth is fire, his breath is death". This does not mean it breaths fire. This is poetical language describing its snort that looks like smoke on a cool morning.

Job 41:1 says, "Can you pull in the leviathan with a fishhook" (NIV). This whole chapter describes this terrible sea creature probably a giant crocodile. It is said to have a tongue (verse 1), a nose and jaw (v.2), limbs (v.12), mouth ringed with fearsome teeth (v.14), and a back tightly fitted with scales (v.15). It describes smoke coming from his nostrils. This is poetic language and is probably like seeing our breathe which looks like smoke in cold weather. There is a similar description of God coming in a thunderstorm in Psalm 18:8. Bartram observed an alligator "that as it comes on the land a thick smoke issues from its distended nostrils with a thundering sound. This thick, hot steam, according to credible description which is presented here, produces the impression of a fire exiting beneath, and bursting forth. The sneezing of fine water particles in the sun spreads light. Eyes of animals at night can shine or glow. The crocodile’s eyes and eyelids glow red under water like the red at dawn or dusk. It is not talking about real fire coming out of its mouth. This is poetic language (See Revelation 19:12, and Daniel 10:6). In the Dead Sea Scrolls 11Q10 a targum of Job translates leviathan as "Crocodile".

Boy I don't know what school you came from, because we have dinosaurs that we live with today, Australia has lots of them that lived during the dinosaur time, so don't say it is a lie when it's not. We have many animals that walk the earth today that lived during that time, do a little research before you you make a statement like this.

Thanks for telling them.

I never could understand how anyone could even believe in any of the religions. All of them are so full of stupid sayings that actually mean nothing.

You had the correct word. Ignorance, even those well schooled tend to be very ignorant.
