Some of it is because people dont take seriously the command to server God with all your hear tand soul and MIND and strength and only hear part of it
Some of it might have been a distrust of liberal scholarship.. and possibly a rection to scolarly unbelief. You see the same thingin theology, peple sometimes distruct systematic theology because of schoarly unbelief and throw the baby out with the bath water
You said 'largely abandoned' not completely. I think desiring God ministry , ligonier ministry, answers in genesis has good material... probe ministry word view academy teckton.... to name a few
To an extent some of the fields have taken a consensus against a biblical world view; it is tough to have a Christian world view in biology and astronomy given the bias toward long age naturalism
To an extent some groups emphasized the heart and not the mind. The heart is the most important thing to change they would say, but the problem is that everything going to the heart comes through the mind
(there have been works on this like The scandal of the Christian mind" the problem is IRONICALLY the author himself didn't do his homework on creation science and belittles creationists. The best evidence is is on the side of creationists but the naturalists tend to win the propaganda wars)

Because leftism in academia took over and Christians were powerless to stop them. Now some of the Christian universities here are largely unknown.
You should read the book "Victory of Reason" by Rodney Stark. It's a good book and I wish I could've finished it but I had to take it back to the library...heh.

Christianity isn't the most popular thing. Each rising generation seems to think that pain and suffering and yelling about their feelings in a noncompassionate world is art. Or that writing dirty stuff is intellectual. The world is getting pretty screwed.
Plus, contemperary music sucks. Which invalidates all of this.

I disagree. I would say that the meaning in each statement is different. Saying "The Bible is the world of God" or "There is no God" is a statement about what one considers to be knowledge; that is, those statements purport to be examples of beliefs that are both true and justified. On the other hand, the statements that include the mention of belief purport to be neither justified nor true. And stop being so anti-semantic. (Yes, I did answer this question just to get that joke in...)

"Christian worldview" covers a broad spectrum of beliefs-conservative Christianity has shown that it is actively hostile to science and scholarship never mind compatible with it. Religion is no longer an integral part of modern life-its doctrines are an anachronism and modern society has no need for them.

It's because academia pushes views of the world that are contrary to Christian belief. It doesn't matter that those views have tons of evidence to support them. Christians don't want to believe it.
It's because the arts have promoted free expression, including views that are contrary to Christian views. They don't like that someone can paint something that offends them.
Religion is all about control.

Christians tried very hard to be inclusive and open and PC, allowing secularists to push their views. We wimped out, instead of insisting our views be allowed also.

Its mostly because all the scientists, in doing what scientists do, discovered that christianity was wrong.
Its all the non-scientists out there who have yet to catch up since they haven't seen it all for themselves yet.
As for the artists.... as constantly influenced by rhetoric as they are.... its just not original any more. Neither is it compatible with the idea of self-expression. Christians cannot express themselves because they aren't individuals.... They are merely drones.... Brainwashed zombies... without individuality to express.
