See we are having a problem with pregnant women, and old men, and Mexicans like that. They come over here and jump on welfare.
If we build a wall....the ones that are physically fit enough to climb the wall...and smart enough to get around the wall, will be welcome here, to work in the fields, and other jobs that the "white man" ain't gonna do !!! I think it's a pretty good idea!! lmao

No doubt , according to most answerers, another wall with armed gunmen is desirable and may be built. As the high wall goes up and on in Palestine. However as in Berlin eventually walls are dismantled however high and people live together in peace. Berlin is now a most civilised city east and west. Surely there are other ways to sort out these problems and why is there is such migration and pushing out out out , in the first place. However this seems a minority answer. Another brick wall.
Dizzy.

Well.....all rational means don't seem to work. There is a legal way to immigrate to this country. But too many decided it was easier to come illegally. It's only part of the answer but it's a start. Secondly....it's a fence. If it were left to me it would be a darned WALL with armed guards stationed all across with shoot to kill orders. So we are trying the most peaceful means against people who have no respect for the law. It's necessary because illegal aliens who disrespect our laws made it necessary. It would have been so much easier if they would have just abided by the law.

Yes! Oh Yes!, To protect Mexicans from possible death in the deserts.
If they know there is a barrier they will not attempt to come here illegally and it also send a message to the Mexican government we went their citizens human right enforced.
We must also start prosecuting employers that take advantage of illegal aliens and use some of the fines and monies seized to off set the cost of the border fence

Yes. It will not stop all of the Illegals but it will stop about 75 percent of them with that short of illegal coming into the USA illegally. The Border Patrol will be able to manage the flow of illegals and then they can perform other duties like checking employers and doing city Patrol, working Check point and go after the illegal that have been ordered deported. It will take sometime but Rome was not build in one day.

Perhaps not if the following keeps happening,
This is from the largest pork processing plant in the US located in NC,

Several weeks ago Smithfield Packing, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods Inc., sent hundreds of workers “no-match letters,” notifying them that the name and Social Security number they had given the company did not match records of the Social Security Administration. In recent days, the company began firing those who were unable to explain the discrepancies.
In a move highly unusual for nonunion workers, more than 500 employees walked out yesterday at the Smithfield Packing Company’s hog-killing plant in Tar Heel, N.C., the largest pork-processing plant in the world.

Workers involved in the walkout said it was fueled by anger over Smithfield’s recent decision to fire several dozen immigrants who the company said had presented false Social Security numbers in applying for a job. This company employs 5,500 people.

Go Smithfield.I know what kind of hams etc I will be buying from now on.
Although a fence may be a deterrent to the endless flow of illegals into the USA.

I'am so sorry to say this but with the Democrats in now the plans for a fence is going to be history.
They are a bunch of WHIMP'S that wont do very much to protect America. They are the ones that want to pull out of Iraq. They find it easier to run from the problem than to fix it.

Is it necessary? Do you have another way to slow down the illegals from crossing? I am a believer that something must be done to slow down the crossings and right now the fence is my number one suggestion. I know we must have the fence in combination with other measures such as preventing the hiring of illegals and the prevention of housing illegals. You can have workers in country legally as well as illegally and I am for legal immigration vs illegal immigration.

No, actually, it's not. If you make the penalty for hiring illegals harsh enough that nobody would risk it, no wall would be needed. Of course, that law would have to be enforced too, and illegals caught in America would have to be deported. Illegals caught bringing drugs into the country should be shot, and their nation of origin charged for the money it cost to deal with them, after all, they can patrol their own border and prevent their citizens from crossing illegally, if they don't, it is not the fault of the US Government

No it is not. All that is necesary is to stop people from hiring illegals and stop people from housing them. The fence is a waste of tax dollars when enforcing the laws that are already on the books would do a better job anyway. If life is not easier on this side for illegals they will not come.
