They are antibiotics to treat things like chlamydia and gonorrhea. You should not take drugs after their expiration date, and if you have these drugs my guess is you had this std before. #1, start using a condom, #2 if you took these before you body could have built up an immunity to them, and the chlamydia or whatever you have could have mutated and you may need a different drug. Go to the doctor and get swabbed!

Metronidazole is used to treat yeast and some fungal infections. Chlamydia is a yeast infection that can be transmitted sexually, although it is not, in of itself an STD. There are many other kinds of yeast infections that can be transmitted via sexual contact. There are just as many that can be transmitted through non-sexual contact (oral Thrush, for one). If you are looking at someone else's perscription, I suggest you get out of their medicine cabinet and mind your own business. IF you are really wanting to protect yourself against STDs, use condoms during all forms of sexual contact. And wash your hands.

If they are expired, don't use them. There's a reason things have an exparation date. Also, these things have differet treatment methods. Don't play "at home doctor," just go to the doctor and have them prescribe what you need. Metronidazole is usually for trichomoniasis or vaginitis. Chlamydia needs specific antibiotics.

The metronidazole is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia lamblia, amebic dysentery, anaerobic bacterial infections, and colitis.
Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that stops bacteria multiplication by inhibiting the reproduction and repair of their genetic material (DNA).
So they both need to be taken together. One inhibits growth of the bacteria and the other kills the bacteria.
