Second cousin

2015-09-27 03:55:56 · answer #2 · answered by Randy 1 · 0 1

Many people and different cultures say different. My family says that my first cousin's child would be my second cousin. And If i were to have a child, then my child and my cousin's child would be second cousins. If my cousin's child have a child, and my child have a child, then the two grandchildren would be third cousins. Etc......

But I heard it is completely different in certain parts of India. Cousins can be the sisters' husband. They do not say brother-in-law, they say cousin. So it really depends on culture and however the family breaks it down. I just know that we are related. You know when your family tree branches out too far from the stump, all you know is that they are a relative and cannot figure out how.
