I lent him quite a large sum of money. Things are not looking good between us. Should I hold off ending it until I get my cash back?

Hmm only you and he can know the answer to that! You know him better than anyone else... what was he like with money when you were together? I would try get some of the cash back now at least or talk about what would happen if you break up!

Good luck... hope you don't need it! x

I know how you feel, I did the silly thing of lending my BF at the time a large sum of money he was always paying in dribs and drabs but no large sum. I felt the same didn't want to end it because of the money but in the end I had enough I didn't think any amount of money was worth being miserable.

I have been lucky as he has paid a lot of the money he owes me back he still owes over half the amount but at least I have got something back.

It is hard having to deal with him after we split as I would rather not but has to be done.

I really didn't think he would pay me but it was a risk I had to take and think you should too.

Depends how much money it was you lent him and how bad things are between you but try and get it back before you dump him, if you dump him and then ask then he'll probably just be angry or upset and wont give it to you. Second option could be to threaten to dump him and say because you cant trust him or something because he still hasnt paid you back, if he wants to stay with you he might give it back.

Your big lesson for today is to never lend money unless you have it in writing. I would ask him to pay what is owed then dump him. I did that once, but I dumped the guy before he gave me what was owed and I didn't get all the money back. Good luck.

If you don't want to be with him....get rid of him. Make sure you let him know that you expect the money back that you loaned him and when you expect it by. Let him know that you have a verbal agreement when it comes to the loan and that will hold up in a court of law and you will take him to small claims court to get it back if you have to. Of course use some tact when telling him this. Good luck!

ok well.. like the others say whats the likelyhood of him giving you the money back in the relationship let alone out of it. u know him best so try to weigh out the pros and cons.

If your not happy with him now, you may as well finish it as he may never pay it back.. could u talk to any of his family about it, i know that seems a bit much but its obviously coming between you and him. sit him down talk about it as calmly as you can,

I know some people will always put off paying someone back if they can get away with it.. so come down on him hard..

Would you give him the money back if it was you? If you dump him he will probably not give you the money back perhaps you might need to get him to the small claims court. If you want out of this relationship why not cut your losses and move on..

No-probably not. But that is no reason to stay with him. Learn from your mistake and dont loan anyone a large amount of money without a legal note written and signed. If you have that..take it to a lawyer or call Judge Judy.

No. You should not be with him just because he owes you money. What I would do is, talk to him and ask him for the money back and end it there and then.
If he does not give you the money then take it further with your lawyer.

Get the cash first mama! If hes an honest person then he'll pay you back, but most guys ( and girls for that matter) wouldnt pay their ex a dime after getting the boot!
