None - it is a common practice in some cultures - and there are those who will suggest that cooler rather than warmer baths reduce Winter upper respiratory infections. I prefer mine warm - not too hot - not too cold. I suppose that cold showers may save a little on the hot water bill - and they may be hidden benefits to cold showers.

That depends on how cold you can stand it. I recommend a cool bath NOT a cold one. Doctors warn against taking baths in real hot water because it is very drying to the skin, especially in winter but I doubt there is any warning about a cold bath other than you may chill and catch a cold.

no, if you want to freeze your butt off, try a warmer bath, it won't shock your body as much as cold water.
