I would not use the term "magical". "Mystical", perhaps.
Everyone CAN have it. All they have to do is *ask* God. Faith itself is a gift, as you have said. Gifts are freely given (that's what GRACE is all about)...but they must also be freely RECEIVED.
Epistle of James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and without reproach; and it shall be given him.
1:6 But let him ask in faith, without wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.

Why does everyone in the church speak in tongues? Recall in the book of Acts 2 why the people received this gift? Verses 5-12 tells us it was so that people of other languages could hear the Good News in their native tongues. It was also a sign to the unbelievers that God was using the Christian congregation to carry out his purpose (1 Corinthians 14:22). When everyone in the church is speaking in tongues does anyone understand what they are saying, or is it unintelligible? 1 Corinthians 14:27 and 28 says there must be a translator. Otherwise, the person should keep silent. What is more important than these gifts of the spirit is Love. Reveiw 1 Corinthians chapter 13. Also read James chapter 2. Beleive what God has written in the Bible. If people contradict the Bible, remember God's word is superior to them.

There is no magic in having faith. You either acquire it or you dont. Faith is having an assurance on something even when you do not see it. So faith is acquired through study of God's word that gives evidence for the reason of your faith.

faith is a free gift of God, it is not magical as it cannot be conjured up nor can it be bought or sold, it is readily available to all who call on God to save them, it is just a simple matter of asking God to come into your life and accept you as His child.
the remarkable thing is that in doing this you already are in the way of faith and God will strengthen that faith, so we should humble ourselves and come to God in submission.
people who pray will be stronger in their faith as prayer keeps us connected to God in a world full of distractions which can make our faith weak.

Since it doesn't have any substance or form.... its quite easy to conjure it out of nowhere and vanish it away just as easily.
... But then Plegdib is a far superior alternative.
Its like faith but more awesome, and comes with a free lolly-pop..... cherry flavour, currently.

It depends on how you define faith. I don't consider it a gift to be able to put trust in someone.
I do consider it a liability, however, to put trust in something that has no evidence to back it up.

Not sure I would call it "magical" - it is God in your heart.
The Holy Spirit who brings peace, knowledge, truth and guidenace comes when we trust in Jesus Christ.
