Maybe you need to pray for faith.
Prayer is the elevation of the mind and heart to God:
+ In praise of his glory
+ In petition for some desired good
+ In thanksgiving for a good received
+ In intercession for others before God
Through prayer the Christian experiences a communion with God through Christ in the Church.
"For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy." (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)
"Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God." (St. John Damascene)
But when we pray, do we speak from the height of our pride and will, or "out of the depths" of a humble and contrite heart? (Psalm 130:1)
He who humbles himself will be exalted; humility is the foundation of prayer. Only when we humbly acknowledge that "we do not know how to pray as we ought," are we ready to receive freely the gift of prayer. "Man is a beggar before God."
With love in Christ.

Say the Lord's prayer; it contains every prayer. Next talk to God as you would to any person, simply but with respect. No prizes for using big words, no prizes for being disrespectful. Tell Him whatever is on your mind. Don't wait to hear any answers with your ears. Just get on with life and see if God doesn't try to teach you something new through the people you meet and the things that happen. Listen to your heart (not heartbeat!). If you are trying to remain free from sin then your heart should begin to lead you to what is good. If you are content in your sins your heart will only lead you astray. God will speak to you in your heart when you try to purify it but while He speaks no less surely, it takes so much longer to hear His voice.
Your prayers are already heard by God, your next step in the spiritual life is to learn how to hear His voice calling you. And don't forget the living voice of God in His holy Word, the Bible.

The 'Lord's prayer' is a model prayer. It doesnt mean we have to recite it all the time. Since it is a model prayer u just follow the steps outlined. Pray for the vindication of God's name(God's name has been profaned by many today) Pray that God extends his blessings down to the earth as it is in heaven(in heaven, there is no war, hunger, sickness etc) Pray for sufficiency for each day. Pray for the forgiveness of our sins(we all sin many times, sometimes knowingly and unknowingly) and also pray the heart to forgive others. Pray for strength to resist temptation and the strength to overcome them. But most of all live in harmony with what you pray for and keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking and have faith that God would hear and give you answers as long as they are in harmony with his will. Also do not forget the study of the bible, it answers a lot of questions for us today.

First accept Jesus as Lord. Then as you pray, pray according to the will of God. How do you know the will? Study the scriptures. Pray according to what they say. Talk to God as you would anyone else, and then listen. Listen for that still small voice. Many times when God talks to me, He will use His word to answer. Sometimes He reveals things to me about His word. And sometimes He just answers. When God hears our prayers, He always answers. It may not be what we want, but it will be what we need.

Prayer in its simplest form is nothing more than a wish turned heavenward.
Wrong. Prayer is you talking to God and God talking to you. It is a conversation. Your hopes and wishes may be part of what you say to God, but just asking Him for things is not what prayer is all about. Prayer is praise. Prayer is supplication. Prayer is worship. Prayer can be said, thought, sung, or danced. It doesn’t matter what language prayer is in. God speaks them all.
The Bible contains many instructions on prayer. Most of them are given through example—the Lords Prayer, Jesus’ prayer in the garden. Prayer is a very individual thing. I may not talk to God like you do. Doesn’t matter—He still hears.
One other thing about prayer in general—prayer is always answered. Sometimes yes; sometimes no; sometimes wait. But it always answered.

Well first of all you pray from the heart. Everything derives from the heart. Are you praying out of selfish needs or are your prayer b/c you love Him and you want to have a relationship with Him. Praying does not consist of you doing all the talking. Most of the time if we sit still enough and listen, God will speak to our spirit man, and deal with us regarding some things we need to correct in our lives. Keep seeking God, and remember that the only way to ave a relationship with the Father is through His Son Jesus Christ. When you pray, end your prayer with "In the Name of Jesus". But when you pray it has to line up with the Word of God...So how do you pray according to the Word of God? Well you will have to spend time reading and studying the Word of God, and not only that but being a doer (practicing walking according to the Word of God). God know's our heart, He knows when we pray to but yet seek an ulterior motive...He knows when we are truly and diligently seeking Him for Truth. Seek Him with your heart and not words.

Know that the Lord hears all our prayers and loves you very much. By you just asking this question he is already answering you. Say the Lords Prayer with expectant faith, boldness , and trust in his saving power. God Bless.

Don`t worry to much. Let the God worries about you, okay?
God is alive, He`s everywhere, even near you or probably within you. He`s listening, looking at everyone clearly without obstruction, He knows even the language of your heart, your every thought, in your every actions. He knows the reason why you`re happy, why you cry, and why you become angry.
Just talk to the Gods thru your heart/sincerely/honestly. Ask whatever confuses you, what you ever wants to know, and tell Him what your plans in the future, and ask if He likes your plan by the way.
"Our Father" is the best prayer ever composed, because Jesus Christ himself tell us to say what His Father (the Almighty Father)wants to hear. After all, He is a God, He knows what prayers they liked so much to be said by the faithful.
When you say the prayer, be sure you are not in a hurry to do other wordly things and duties, go to a silent place so without disturbance, focus on your prayers, say the prayers very slowly, understanding every word you say and feel it like you mean it every word you utter.
If you like to say these prayers always...be sure you mean every word you utter by living the word you said in your life.
Like:....Thy will be done to me and to the world...
.....Forgive my sins as I forgive others..... etc.

If you are a true born again child of God then you talk to Jesus as your best friend.Be honest with him.don't just say some repetitious prayer. He hates that. Talk to him. Then take time and listen.Real quite time alone. The holy spirit lives inside his children and he will speak to you through the spirit. You will know its him.Keep reading the word. He is the word. John1:1.

There is something in a person which play a very important role. This something is called FAITH.I f u want to prove that the LORD has heared you, you've just to have that strong believe which is called faith.
For you to have a real relationship with GOD, i think first of all you have to be faithful.I mean everything that you do must not be out of what GOD want you to do.What will tell that this is not good? the answer is your conscious.I think when a person is about to do what is not good something will tell him/her that this is not good and you must not just ignore that maybe because someone e.g.pastor has said. This will build your relationship with GOD.I think this will help.GOD bless you

If you have made the decision to accept Jesus as your personal savior, you just talk to God like you would a close friend and end it by saying , I pray this in Jesus name. Some times if you are still and quiet ,you will have a thought come to you from Him. If it goes against the bible, its not from God.
