I am not sure, but you and a parent can go to a recruiting center and ask.

If you are short join the Air Force. For real. I saw a special on this on discovery. The shorter you are the better. They need shorter people to fuel the planes and machanic work. Shorter people can walk under the height of the wings with less injuries. Also is a very respected job . Pays excellent and get some very high tech training which will get you a great high paying job when you get out. But don`t jump the gun yet did you know that Micheal Jordon was to short to make the basketball team his freshman and sophmore years in high school ? My youngest son was short all through junior high and my other 2 boys were tall for their age. Now my youngest son is TALLER than both of them. A doctor once told me when a boy gets in a growing spree that there are documented cases of boys growing as much as 1 full inch over night. That is why boys tend to have growing pains more than girls. Boys grow in spirts normally more over the summer months and excercise seems to bring it on AND EAT HEALTHY.. Girls grow a little all the time. Boys grow until they are 18 to 21.

Every branch has different standards and requirements. The best way to find your answer is to contact the recruiters for the various branches.
Additionally, perhaps I can provide you with some encouragement. I am only 5'3" and I have served in the Marine Corps for the last ten years with no problem. Further, I know other Marines who are shorter than I am and they don't have any problems either. Personally, I use my height as a source of motivation. It is always a great feeling to succeed when others thought I would fail because of my height.
Good luck and stay motivated.

Yes there is a height requirement, its around 5'0", but you can ask for a waiver, the most important thing in the service is the job you do, get good grades in high school, stay out of trouble, even minors records can be opened for Top secret jobs, Think about hi tech jobs where there isn't many civilian schools. Weather forecasting, or Air traffic control, There isn't much of a future carrying a rifle around

These are the general qualifications for the military. Your best bet is to speak with your area (local) recruiter and he will let you know exactly what is required. There are some jobs that do have more requirements
U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
17-41 years old
Healthy and in good physical condition
In good moral standing
High School or Equivalent Education
Some positions may have additional qualifications

i imagine we could continually have bootcamp for each and each and every teen---not the draft unavoidably, although the discipline and esprit d' corps that making one's way through the trials of a defense force bootcamp serves 2 applications: readying a era for defense force provider if there could be a want for extra recruitment, and construction vanity for the period of pubescent years which will very last a life-time. What you propose is neither sensible nor sensible. I do imagine we could continually count a lot less on civilian contractors, although, and allow the defense force workers to do the artwork.

Yup, depend on how old you want to join the army. I think all countries have requirements when joining the army. But the height requirement are reasonable in-line with the age range, so don't worry. Thnx god for people like you, defending your country for the better.
